Twitter Files - Should We Be Surprised?

One of the most significant scandals of our times is the "Twitter Files" that demonstrate, for anyone curious, that the United States government has been moderating the content of social media, something that many people believe to be a violation of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution which, last I knew, prohibits government control of free speech, the press, and the media in the United States.

One big question comes to mind when I consider this recent revelation:

What makes you think that this began with social media? Why on earth would it not dawn on you that government has been controlling all of the forms of mainstream media? Just because we don't have access to proof, does that mean it hasn't been happening? If a tree falls in the woods and there's nobody around to hear it, does it still make a sound? Does the tree even still fall?

Duhhhhhhhhh.....

We live in an age where what we assume to be the truth because reputable media people tell us that it is true is actually just a government-controlled fabrication - like as in "fake news".
