America's First Revolution
I don't often do book reviews, but I came across an exceptional book recently at a thrift store. It appears that I am the first to read this copy although it only cost me a buck. The book is about the American Revolutionary War. Although it is fiction it is historical fiction and is full of facts that are woven in such a way that I, who couldn't stand history back in my high school days, can't put it. This is what history books should read like.
The book:
Bootmaker To The Nation
Written by Dr. John Slade
Should be required reading in American history classes. The characters are what the word "patriot" really refers to, dedicated ordinary people who gave everything they had to give for the seemingly futile cause of freedom.
