Mass Psychosis Narcissism

I would like to take this opportunity in the middle of the night, actually at 2:19 AM on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving in the United States known for psychotic early-bird hordes of panicked shoppers trying to score the latest and greatest gadgets for Christmas presents while supplies last) to introduce a term that gets exactly zero hits when I Google it. That term is the title I have given to this article, mass psychosis narcissism.

Mass psychosis is a term that has gained popularity as an explanation for the panic (now mostly recognized as irrational panic) that society experienced in the face of Covid-19. That term gets lots of hits on Google, so I won't go into it.

Narcissism is a mental health condition that most people have heard about and that also gets plenty of hits in a Google search. For me, most people can recognize narcissism as the condition that leads some young people to make the lives of their parents and siblings a living hell by throwing temper tantrums whenever they don't get things their way. When narcissistic behavior goes unchecked in childhood the condition becomes a problematic form of negative adult behavior that most people don't recognize because it is so common in modern society.

Mass psychosis narcissism, by my definition, is when narcissistic behavior becomes so common and so dominant that it becomes mainstream in society, no longer seen as something undesirable.

That is where society is at now. This modern age has become the age of narcissism.
