A Bridge to Blindness

As a natural conspiracy theorist - otherwise known as a critical thinker or skeptic - there is a powerful temptation to be sucked into the conspiracy thinking involving the massive container cargo ship crashing into and causing the total collapse of the Interstate 695 bridge east of Baltimore this week.

Videos of the ship approaching the bridge sped up to something like eight times the actual speed really do make a person wonder about that crash, but one thing has really bothered me about all the theories...

What would be the motive? Who stands to gain from something like that?

The answer has eluded me.

But one thing did come to mind this morning. Not that it means anything, but the timing of this story and of all the suspicion it has triggered sure has diverted attention away from the likely involvement of Ukraine and quite possibly America in the terrorist attack in Moscow. That story has been eclipsed in the media. The bridge story is simply blinding!
