Speaker of the House of Representatives Voted Out

Word has it this morning (reading mainstream media) that eight Republicans in the United States House of Representatives, upset that Speaker Kevin McCarthy hadn't lived up to his promises he made last January when he was given the position, voted with 208 Democrats to oust him.

One wonders why so many Democrats voted to remove him from office. He seemed to be helping them.

Even though only eight Republicans voted against McCarthy, had I been a member the number would have been 9. He didn't impress me much.

In other news the new temporary speaker is evicting former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from her private little office:

McHenry orders Pelosi to vacate Capitol office in one of first acts as Speaker pro tem

She deserved it. Remember the time she tore up the President's State of the Union Address in front of the House, the Senate, and the entire world? Talk about firsts!

Yeah, she deserved it.
