The Economics Conundrum (In Mt Head)

Just the other day I posted a link to a group that I was unaware of until now, Promethean Updates and came across ideas that reminded me of a book I had read fairly recently but never finished or absorbed.

That book, published 18 years ago, is The Shock Doctrine, The Rise of Disaster Capitalism, written by Canadian Naomi Klein. Its focus is the much praised and usually disastrous Milton Friedman economic theories.

I'm not convinced that Trump's agenda conforms to this "shock doctrine" economic philosophy but I definitely need to look into it more deeply. At this point I tend to think the debate in my head needs to focus on understanding this Friedman theory with the argument being presented in defense of Trump policy as explained by these Promethean folks. How does Trump's economics differ from neoliberal, neoconservative, free market, globalist principles? Or does it?

The other day I wrote about my experience attending a No Kings event in downtown Ellsworth, Maine. At that event several people spoke to me about the peaceful nature of the event.

Yesterday My wife mentioned something I hadn't noticed at that event, two people holding up signs that read 8647.

If I had noticed those signs, chances are I would have photographed the individuals and reported it to the police. Last I knew it was against the law to threaten the life of the President.

But considering that the whole idea of "No Kings" is to instigate the assassination of President Trump, it doesn't seem likely the police would have acted on my concerns.

I need to get something off my chest first before posting this link.

I go back to before 9/11. Actually when 9/11 happened I was in my early 50's so indeed I go back. I go back so far that I can freshly remember stories going around on the Internet claiming that Israel had ways to convince the American people that Israel's enemies in the Middle East were America's enemies as well and one of Israel's tricks to convince us was to set off a few mini nuclear bombs in populated areas such as, perhaps, sports stadiums during games when the stadiums were full. Stories had it that the bombs were already in the United States.

Needless to say, Israel never did that. Fortunately for Israel 9/11 was all it took to cement the hearts of Americans against Israel's Muslim enemies.

Since the mini nukes stories virtually disappeared down the memory hole, I always wondered what became of them. Did the American government track them down and secretly remove them? Were they even real in the first place? Who knows. It's as though that topic was never brought up in the first place and I only dreamed it up.

But a whole lot of American money was spent and a whole lot of American blood was shed meeting Israel's security needs.

In recent months many Americans have come to see Israel the same way most of the rest of the world's population sees it. Israel is losing the hearts and minds of the American public. The slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza has triggered a sea change in the hearts and minds of many Americans.

Suddenly people are realizing that Israel could care less about the lives of any humans who are not Jews.

A month or so back Russia came under attack by unknown saboteurs who used weapons assembled within Russia to attack Russia's nuclear bomber fleet. Ukraine proudly claimed responsibility and the whole world bought the story. Ironically the same thing happened in Iran a couple of weeks later and nobody even thought to make the connection. I have heard nobody claim that it was Israel, not Ukraine. that attacked and threatened Russia's nuclear defense capabilities.

But those two attacks made one thing crystal clear, that Israel had and still has the capacity - and has been working for years to perfect it - to attack anybody anywhere in the world where Jews are allowed to roam. For all anybody knows there could be warehouses in America stocked with drone weapons ready to be trucked anywhere in the country to attack America to convince us that we have been attacked by Russia or by Iran or by China and we would be helpless to refute the claims of our own media sources backing up the story.

Helpless.

So I always seem to have that idea in mind when I watch something like this video:

Why do I think that? Because there's always speculation that somebody is pressuring Trump to do what Israel demands rather than him carrying out his promise to those who voted to put him in office.

No Kings in Ellsworth

My wife and I decided to be spectators last Saturday at the "No Kings" rally in the city hall parking lot in Ellsworth (Maine). There was a large crowd already gathered when we arrived just after noon. Parking was non-existent with the exception of the parking lot at the Baptist church nearby. Being Christians ourselves, we figured hey, why not so I backed into a space where the Trump Team sticker on my tailgate wouldn't be spotted. I didn't want my truck getting keyed.

Before I was even out of the truck, I became aware of the fact that this event was an American flags event, flags everywhere, but talking with a participant while walking down the sidewalk I realized American flags are the new thing now with TDS liberals, 99% of the crowd last time Ellsworth had an event like this.

As I get pathetically older, I tend to speak my mind more freely and Saturday was no exception. I asked several attendants where the king's guards were since it seems obvious there would be king's guards at insurrections like this. There weren't even police in the crowd and certainly no sword and bayonet carrying riflemen looking for traitors to the king. So, king's guards? Zero. Nobody could point out even one.

I did notice quite a few black signs with white lettering that said "RESIST" on the high ground adjacent to city hall and one prominent sign identically colored down in the crowd that said "Divided We Fall" which seemed enormously hypocritical to me since the object of the protest was to divide the American public.

I did manage to find one other conservative. Just one, though.

Several of the folks I spoke with bragged about how they were able to practice their free speech rights with no violence. I shit you not. This after the past four years of the Biden administration supporting censorship in social media and holding over a thousand political prisoners many in solitary confinement and being subject to torture to get them to testify against Trump not to mention the Biden Department of Justice declaring parents at school board meetings being "domestic terrorists".

Basically, I concluded that the event was one huge virtue signal designed to mask over the actual guilt of the Left for opposing free speech during the Biden years. They have a lot of guilt to mask over.

Here this is a totally new war strategy that takes months or years of preparation, and it is used to great success in two entirely different war fronts by two totally different attacking nations? What an amazing coincidence!

Is it any wonder that in the comments to this article some are speculating that maybe, just maybe, the attack in Russia was actually a Mossad operation.

Myself, I can't see any reason why the Mossad wouldn't want to be covertly operating in Russia as well to the point where they would have the capacity to plan and carry out drone strikes against Russia which Ukraine's leaders could claim as their own brilliant successes worthy of further investments by Western powers.

Nobody that I know of has suggested that possibility yet.

To Be Fair

Just to be fair and to help balance out my criticism of Trump, consider what the alternative was in 2024 and still is today:

Trump just CALLED their BLUFF.

Musk: 1 - Trump: 0

I just had a very strange notion come to me, kind of like when you are going around in a circle and you finally come to the end of it and everything you have been observing suddenly makes total sense.

Well, not total sense, but maybe, if I observed correctly, a whole lot more sense.

My wife and I both are Trump people. We believe in MAGA at face value. All those conservative values that Trump preaches at all his rallies resonate with us folks who, for sure, aren't "woke".

My wife's brother rants about how untrustworthy and ungrateful Trump is in reality but all we see is how much we wish Trump actually means it when he advocates for "we the people" control of government and fiscal sanity and constitutionally guaranteed rights and virtue.

Oh dear, there's that word - virtue.

My brother-in-law doesn't think Trump's virtue is real. He imagines it as false, fake. He imagines Trump has a large ego, that he is basically narcissistic.

Surprisingly just the other day I was trying not to pay attention as a lady, I think it was Trump's sister, spoke about the narcissistic side of Donald Trump. I tried really hard not to resonate with what she was describing. After all, I want to believe in Trump

A whole bunch of people are in the same boat that my wife and I are in. We believe that Trump is the champion of the conservative principles that we live by.

Back just before the 2024 election I read a book by a sportswriter who honors the game of golf about what it is like to play a round of golf with Trump, how he cheats and dishonors the game. Although I had no doubt about the truth of that book, I justified it as Trump just not taking this "game" seriously, that golf is a game and real life is real life and the two don't converge.

Along comes Elon Musk, a man whose intelligence leaves all the rest of us in the dust - a genius, someone we should at least listen to, probably show some respect for, someone who might be right concerning his judgment even when we don't get it.

Trump recognized that about Musk, realized that Musk was somebody that voters could resonate with.

So Trump used him, used Musk to convince not only the MAGA people but independent-minded voters as well to vote Trump in November 2024. And we did.

Now Trump claims that he would have won the election even without Musk's help. That may very well be true considering what a piece of sh*t his opponent was... still is... all three of them, Biden, Harris, and Tim Walz, Harris's VP choice. What choice did we have, really.

So we believed Trump and voted for him.

We believed that Trump had what it takes to end the stupid and dangerous war between Ukraine and Russia.

We believed Trump would reduce government spending, do something to keep the national debt from ballooning to ever higher levels.

We believed that Trump policies would help bring prices back down, the price of gas and electricity, the interest rates, the runaway costs for a new pickup truck, or even for a good used one.

And a whole lot more! We believed it all. We even believed that Trump would do something to keep public school officials from sexualizing and corrupting our children!

We believed Trump would see to the release of the names on the Epstein client list, names of public officials, politicians, judges, federal bureaucrats, business people, all those who are compromised by the threat of blackmail and who submit to the deep state, whoever that is.

We believed that Trump and Republicans in Congress would get to the bottom of what happened after the January 6, 2021 protest in Washington DC that led to the arrest of well over a thousand political prisoners - oh, sorry, I mean conservatives, political critics of the Democrats and RINO traitors and their theft of the 2020 election.

Trump won the election and we waited for noon on January 20, 2025 when Trump could finally end the Democrat nightmare.

And we waited.

And we waited.

And we are still waiting.

And it's beginning to look like it looked back in Trump's first term when so many of us hoped that Q-Anon was telling the truth.

Q-Anon wasn't telling the truth. Q-Anon was an intelligence community psyop designed to pacify those who oppose the takeover of the American government by this bureaucratic monster known as the deep state.

Q-Anon wouldn't succeed a second time around. Trump needed help pacifying his impatient MAGA base. So he brought in pacifiers.

Tulsi Gabbard

Robert Kennedy

Elon Musk

Kash Patel

Dan Bongino

and more, a lot more.

As soon as anybody enters prominent office in the American government, they immediately learn how government actually works. They immediately learn that their personal beliefs and even truths they will discover when they use their power to access government secrets are worth absolutely nothing, absolute zero. They learn obedience to the deep state. No matter what they say or do to convince citizens who actually care about the country that they are still real and relevant, they are no longer either real or relevant.

The one exception was Elon Musk, or so it appears anyway.

What made Elon Musk different was that he let his beliefs override the bureaucratic mandate that he compromise himself and faithfully serve the deep state - which at this point is basically a Marxist dictatorship.

Trump let Elon Mush follow him around, study him, learn about Trump's nature, see him for who he really is, watch how he treats anybody who isn't obedient.

Imagine the surprise when Musk realized that Trump isn't the nice guy that all his followers think he is! And if you can't believe this, look at all the trash that Trump has been throwing at Musk because Musk actually believed he could impact government spending. Musk was devastated when he found out all his work and all his personal and financial sacrifice, now measured in tens of billions of dollars or more of personal loss for him, was all in vain.

Most of Trump's base can't see this from Musk's perspective. They still trust Trump, or if they don't, they still believe Trump will fulfill his promises.

But Trump made a huge mistake.

Trump treated Musk, a dedicated ally, like shit and he hurt him financially to the tune of billions of dollars, all because Mush wouldn't keep his mouth shut about how Donald Trump betrayed him.

And we all had a front row seat while all this took place.

Meaning...

That now, if we so choose, we can see Trump for the brutal narcissist that he really is, the one my brother-in-law assured us was for real, the one Trump's sister warned about.

The reason Trump is powerless to end the war in Ukraine is that Putin has noticed that Trump could care less about the actual cause of the war. Trump wants a ceasefire, but he could care less about the future. Trump wants peace to boost his ego, to enlarge his image.

Meanwhile Trump favors the ethnic cleansing of Palestine. Trump favors the submission of Muslims to secure Jewish dominance in the Middle East to boost his own ego, to enlarge his image.

Trump could care less about the national debt as long as government spending boosts his ego, his image.

Americans be damned. This is Trump's America now, his own personal kindergarten sand box, and he won't share anything equally. He dominates.

And it's all right there now, out in the open for anybody to see.

Mind you, this is just one man's opinion. I could be wrong.

MAGA, Musk, and the BBB Explained Rationally

Last week the MAGA political movement took a big crap with Trump's "Big Beautiful [spending] Bill" and thanks to the mainstream media it hit the fan. That bill took MAGA by surprise and it is no wonder that the champion of reigning in government spending, Elon Musk, criticized it. Naively, Musk didn't realize how vicious Trump is to his critics. If you are anything like me, this has left my head spinning.

Devotion - An Epic War Movie

YouTube's algorithms linked me to a movie last night, a war movie called Devotion about a group of Navy aviators flying upgraded World War II F-4U Corsair carrier-based fighter planes at the beginning of the Korean War back in 1950. The movie was released in 2022 so it's recent with stunning video.

I didn't recognize even a single actor or actress, but the acting was as stunning as the video and so was the action. More than any war movie I have ever seen, this movie put me right there with these men. This is Top Gun with the clock wound back decades.

That was and still is my reaction to the much-praised Ukrainian drone attack against Russia's nuclear bomber fleet.

Why?

Because it sends a clear message to Russia that Ukraine wants Russia to retaliate with nuclear weapons.

Which would most certainly start the dreaded World War III.

I can't help but wonder why the media compares this attack to Pearl Harbor and not to 9/11. I would compare it to 9/11 myself, mainly because it looks so much like something you might expect the Mossad would do.
