Faucian Nightmare

In my early morning thoughts, the ones a person might have before physical reality squeezes out freestyle thought, I was thinking how human civilization has worked its way into a nightmare that none of us seem to be able to escape. At its core of course is Covid, that mysterious demon that brings out the worst in everybody. At the core of Covid thought and policy is Anthony Fauci.

It seems only natural to imagine, as I imagined this morning, that in the future, if humans survive, this nightmare will be known as the "Faucian nightmare". The term will be as common as "Freudian slip".

Since Faucian is flagged as a misspelling, curious results come up when searching the term online. One search engine - not Google - immediately substituted "faustian" for faucian in its dropdown quick list but the eighth suggestion, consistently, was "facebook".

"How appropriate!" I thought., not that there's any relation, mind you, outside of conspiracy theory territory and I'm not about to go there in my feeble early morning thoughts. It's quite enough just to have this feeling that I just woke up but am still haunted and trapped by my latest nightmare.

As if I were reading minds, I finished typing faucian nightmare into that search engine and voila! This article dated this month popped up:

Fauci Just Announced Unvaccinated Americans Worst Nightmare

I haven't even read it yet and have never heard of "The Western Journal" before.

Covid - Maine in the Crosshairs

Update September 3, 2021

Maine's governor has extended the deadline for the mandate discussed below to October 28. However from this Portland Press Herald article it is unclear what effect this change will have on unvaccinated healthcare workers.
The comments at the end of this article for some reason do not seem to reflect any of the thinking of healthcare workers opposed to forced Covid vaccinations. They seem to imply a near-unanimous consensus that:
1. The vaccines protect against getting Covid-19.
2. The vaccinated are threatened by the unvaccinated.
Make those two divergent claims mesh.

August 23, 2021

This News Center Maine story dated Thursday August 12, 2021 announced that Maine is mandating Covid vaccination for all healthcare workers effective October 1. The story reports that the announcement comes just "days after Maine's largest hospital reported an outbreak".

This Portland Press Herald article also dated August 12, the day of the governor's announcement, has more information. The governor's philosophy explained in this article is basically to put the squeeze on all healthcare workers in Maine to prevent them from leaving their jobs where vaccines are mandated and finding healthcare employment in state licensed facilities that don't require Covid vaccinations.

The State of Maine maintains a DHHS public Web page with tables and charts, some cumulative, some updated daily, showing Covid data. I find scant evidence there to support this panic move by the governor. Two of the interactive charts under "Hospital Capacity" titled "COVID-19 Patients in Critical Care" and "COVID-19 Patients on Ventilator" mysteriously underwent radical adjustment of the data this weekend or this morning reducing huge spikes that began August 17 - reducing daily numbers even exceeding 300 back down to two digit numbers not exceeding 50.

Considering the now well-established fact that fully vaccinated individuals, including fully vaccinated healthcare professionals in hospitals and other licensed healthcare facilities around the state, can catch and no doubt many have caught the virus since their vaccinations just as our own Senator Angus King has done and considering that it is now well established that fully vaccinated people can spread and no doubt many are spreading the virus even in hospital and other healthcare settings and considering that being fully vaccinated may be and probably is enabling professionals to spread the virus unwittingly because they have fewer symptoms, likely delaying their realization that they have the disease or are contagious, and considering that it seems likely that this mandate will have no effect other than to potentially increase this problem or reduce professional healthcare staff in Maine, the governor's mandate is unwarranted.

Many of the facts I present here were not publicly known at the time of Governor Mills' declaration, but they are established fact now making it irrational to continue with implementation of her mandate. The safety of the vaccines has never been scientifically verified. The fact that vaccinated people are suffering side effects that are seriously downplayed or even completely ignored by vaccine advocates, combined with the fact that officials are apparently ignoring that vaccinations have no known means of reducing the spread of the virus but yet are encouraging the public to believe that they do make the governor's mandate not only irrational but also ignorant.

Sorry, Gov.

But don't take my word for it. Stop ignoring facts. Do your research. Mandating vaccinations while ignoring known effective treatments encourages suspicion. Be suspicious. Pay attention. Question authority. Follow the money.

The Great Thunberg Future

Back before we swore off Television, the great Satan, we would sometimes tune in to "The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau" I believe the program was called where Jacques Cousteau in a strong French accent explored the oceans with his ship Calypso filming research adventures at sea. Many Baby Boomers like me must have tuned in along with their parents. This was quite awhile ago, mind you.

His name came across my radar screen in a recent post of mine in a series of shocking quotes. From another source here's the quote again slightly expanded:

Jacques Cousteau, the internationally respected oceanographer, explained to the UNESCO Courier in an interview in November 1991: “The damage people cause to the planet is a function of demographics—it is equal to the degree of development. One American burdens the earth much more than twenty Bangladeshes. The damage is directly linked to consumption. Our society is turning toward more and needless consumption. It is a vicious circle that I compare to cancer.” He then added: “This is a terrible thing to say. In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it’s just as bad not to say it.”

That quote came from this article discussing that which only liberals and survivalists like to discuss:

Illuminati: One Billion is enough!

The Vaxxers' Impossible Dream

A lot has been written about the Covid vaccines, about how safe and effective they are as well as how much of a danger they pose. If you suspend disbelief long enough to get past your own personal beliefs and assumptions, long enough to familiarize yourself with both sides of the argument, you might discover that both sides of the debate make valid points. It's foolhardy to "believe" either side, the vaxxers or the anti-vaxxers. Note that my spell checker flags the word vaxxers but accepts the spelling of anti-vaxxers. How Big Tech of them!

How about vaxxer? misspelled...

Vaxxer - misspelled

vaxer - misspelled

anti-vaxer - anti is accepted, vaxer misspelled

Vaxer - misspelled

vaxers - misspelled

anti-vaxxer - spelled correctly

Anyway, back from that rabbit hole...

Among the misspelled vaxxers there is an almost religious belief, radically dogmatic in intensity, that if everybody gets vaxxed (misspelled) [anti-vaxxed means nothing but the "vaxxed" part is flagged as misspelled] but if everyone were to submit and get vaxxed then the disease would vanish.
This leads them to blame the anti-vaxxers [oh that's cool, anti-vaxers is misspelled but the spell checker doesn't suggest anti-vaxxers which is acceptable spelling] but anyway this radical belief leads the vaxxed to blame the anti-vaxxers for the continuation of Covid, especially for the so-called Delta variant.

But most of the philosophizing by the vaxxed crowd is dated prior to the revelation that the vaxxed themselves can carry and transmit Covid. Now that this has become apparent and therefore undeniable the blame game has gone rabid. Now it's the anti-vaxxers passing the disease to the vaxxed who are to blame for the vaxxed spreading Covid.

So this leads me to ponder the question how do you get the entire population of the world vaxxed without a single vaxxed person coming in contact with the unvaxxed for however long it takes for the disease itself to die out, especially now that "long Covid" has been recognized?

The simple answer is...

You don't. That is impossible. There's no way in the world even under ideal conditions that a person can get the vaccine and not be exposed to the person next in line or the person that gets vaccinated next week or the week after or to the tiny little babies who haven't been jabbed at all.

Unless...

Here's the kicker...

Unless you use existing safe drug treatments - not yet approved by the FDA or the CDC or the WHO or whoever else that is forbidding its use against Covid - to eradicate the disease entirely since, obviously, that's not even what the vaccines are intended to do, something we didn't seem to understand until very recently.

Kind of a Catch-22.

The only way we can eradicate the disease is to use medicines that we are forbidden to use.

Makes you wonder if maybe the actual agenda has nothing to do with eradicating Covid, doesn't it?

Doesn't it?

Tucker Makes Me Laugh - Afghanistan

I must be in a good mood this afternoon or something. As pathetic as this is I can't help but laugh at the absurdity of Joe Biden and his entire troop of fools:

Tucker: ABC news appears to edit portions that made Biden look 'unpresidential'

Is Virtue Signaling Rewarding?

Last night it sort of dawned on me that the act of "virtue signaling" must have something to do with the pleasure you feel when you do something rewarding. In my head I made a connection between virtue signaling and social media. Both phenomena seem to have arrived on the world stage at about the same time so are they connected and if so, how?

It's not that nobody virtue signaled before the digital age. I've long made the connection between the practice of religion and the sensation of being virtuous and social media simply made it easy to be "social" but being social before social media came along always came easy to some people. What the digital age, the Internet, and social media did was to made it much easier for people who normally live in isolation to "get out" so to speak and socialize.

With the advent of the Internet I went through a long phase, years of my life actually, where Internet "chat" dominated my time. I spent some time in "chat rooms" but they weren't my thing. Social media outlets are basically chat rooms in slow motion so social media never really was my thing either. But not all chat was done in chat rooms. The other side of chat developed into "instant messaging". Email is basically instant messaging in slow motion too, oddly enough.

Eventually I had to face myself and admit that there was something about chat that had me addicted and by "addicted" I mean addicted! I never understood, basically never tried to understand, what it was that made it addicting but it was addicting. By the way, when I say "was" as in the past tense of "is" I'm not saying society as a whole has evolved out of that era. I have moved on but society hasn't. The technology just evolved. Now people don't need to bother sitting down in front of a computer and keying in their thoughts. Now people are addicted to cellphones and texting. The way I was in my chat days, spending hours on end keyboarding to share my thoughts and reading the thoughts keyboarded by others, since smartphones came along they are the chat technology now. The addiction side of it hasn't changed, only the technology.

But last night it dawned on me that what makes social media addictive is the reward it offers. Positive socializing is rewarding. It is rewarding to be communicating with somebody you want to impress especially if it's working.

So where does virtue signaling come in? What is virtue signaling and how does it tie in with the digital age and with social media?

Virtue signaling, when you boil it down to the essentials, is the act of trying to impress other people with your virtue, with your goodness. My goodness why would anybody want to do that?! You do it for the same reason people habitually use social media, for the reward. Quoting myself, "It is rewarding to be communicating with somebody you want to impress especially if it's working."

This morning I was doing some Googling and I Googled "dopamine triggers", of all things, and the first sentence in Google's results was, "Dopamine is released when your brain is expecting a reward." Dopamine is sometimes referred to as the pleasure hormone although I see this morning that it has been rebranded a "happy hormone" probably because "pleasure" is too closely associated with addiction, but there's the key that opens locked doors. Chat is addictive because it is rewarding and that triggers dopamine, silly! Social media, virtue signaling, they are rewarding and that triggers dopamine.

Just an aside but why on earth would the word "dopamine" need to be socially engineered to remove the association with pleasure? I mean... "Happy hormone"? What's up with that? Pleasure is addicting and we need to hide dopamine's connection to addiction? You got me there. I have no answer. The way it used to be >>> gaslighting >>> the way it is now? Ya got me!

Anyway...

Google also pointed a major connection between addictive drugs and dopamine, heroine being at the top of the list.

So two people are walking down the isles of a store, maybe a Walmart or something, anything really. Each person is pushing a shopping cart but they are in separate isles at right angles to one another so they meet on a corner and each person arrives at this meeting place at the same time as the other and because neither person was aware of the other one or both need to yield before they bump into each other. Happens all the time in stores, right? So they both stop. "I'm sorry," one of these people says to the other. Now if I am one of those people then "I'm sorry" didn't come from my mouth. I mean, sorry about what? Are you sorry you are in the store? Not likely. So are you sorry I am in the store? Not likely. Maybe but not likely. Sorry you met me? Actually probably so because my reaction is, and I quote, "Sorry about what? There's already too much sorrow in the world. No need to add to it." Something to that effect anyway. But that happens almost any time I'm in a store now. And it's not the Covid social distancing thing either. This was common for years before Covid.

So what's going on. Sorry about what?

Saying you are sorry in a situation like that signals to the other person that you are a good person. You didn't make them pause deliberately or maliciously. I knew that. She knew that. Happens all the time, two people needing to yield at the end of an isle. Nobody's fault. So sorry about what? So she's not expressing sorrow at all. She's expressing her virtue, her goodness. Why? For the zing! For that tiny little release of dopamine it gives when you virtue signal.

Three senators, one a Republican, one an Independent, and one a Democrat, all fully vaccinated for Covid, test positive for Covid, the Delta variant of course, all three on the same day, yesterday actually, so they put out statements and what do you suppose those statements say? They tell how they were fully vaccinated and how grateful they are that their symptoms are mild and how everybody else in the world needs to get vaccinated too. In other words, they virtue signal. Actually I only read statements from two of them and one of those two was Maine's own Angus King, king of virtue signaling. I don't recall if the other statement was from the Democrat or from the Republican. I'll leave that for you to sort out. Good chance to exercise your biases here...

But you test positive for Covid and ZING! You go for the dopamine rush by virtue signaling? And you are a world leader? Angus, you make me ashamed to have to admit that you are my senator. You got the jabs. More than likely they allowed you to contract Covid and not be aware of it for awhile during which time you spread the disease around and you want me to be impressed with your virtue?

Covid Gaslighting

Recently I've needed to re-evaluate my memory of the early promises for the Covid vaccine. From what I remember the general idea of the vaccine was to keep people from getting the disease. More recently, though, it's been hard to get anybody to admit that they also thought that same way and the media, virtually all the popular media outlets, never make that claim anymore. The big shift, of course, had to come once it became undeniable that the vaccinated could still have and carry the Covid virus. The latest version is that of course everybody understood that getting the vaccine didn't protect you from getting Covid but rather it gave you protection against serious Covid symptoms including serious hospitalizations and death.

Nobody remembers the initial understanding that they had.

Well here's someone who does seem to recall. Jump into this video at around the three minute mark and pay attention to what she says at the 3:17 mark. Some older people have learned to remember their thoughts from earlier times. She does. I do and she does. The rest of the world is being gaslighted.

Afghanistan - Trump vs. Biden

It's not all that often that I say anything critical of President Trump. I tend to think, all things considered, that he did a remarkable job as President. Who else on this planet could have withstood as much undeserved and politically motivated bad press and still exhibited a positive attitude overall? Unlike the Dems, Donald Trump believed in America and if you paid any attention at all, it showed.

But when it comes to Afghanistan I don't get it. If you recall, Trump planned to be out of Afghanistan by May 1 (2021 for future reference) but when Biden took power he reneged on that agreement and insisted for whatever reason, most likely public relations but whatever, he insisted on the pullout day being September 11, 2021, the twentieth anniversary (?) of 9/11 which was the catalyst for the Afghan war in the first place. There were other reasons for America invading Afghanistan but that has no relevance now. There was the gas pipeline. There was the way women were treated under Taliban rule. There was the chokehold the Taliban put on the illicit opiates trade starving the CIA out of much-needed black money revenues. None of that pertains to setting the date for America's withdrawal though.

Hard to say but chances are that change struck a wrong chord with the Taliban but you know, I suspect the Taliban was already pissed off at the U.S. anyway considering the twenty-year-long war.

What baffles me is why do we make the assumption that President Trump would have had more success than Biden has had with the withdrawal? By that I mean it was obvious that the Taliban was a major fighting force in Afghanistan and that its influence on Afghanistan as well as its goals were a significant concern. Afghanistan, even with military help from America and other countries, couldn't eliminate the Taliban threat. They were hardened and dedicated warriors, not just good at recruiting but life-long warriors and twenty years of war against them couldn't dampen the threat they posed. And that perspective, as significant as it is, overlooks the appeal that revolutionaries like the Taliban would have within the Afghan population. They are heroes for throwing out foreign occupiers. That vein must run deep in Afghanistan.

So it seemed naïve to me to imagine that America could withdraw its forces without the country falling back under Taliban rule. Sure no foreign outsiders thought it would be as easy as it was to overthrow the Afghan government but what distorted calculus was used to imagine the Taliban takeover wasn't inevitable or at least extremely likely?

Had the American (and other foreign) occupiers been able to establish a government that wasn't corrupt and self-enriching, propped up by the drug trade, then perhaps the Taliban's popular appeal might not have been an issue. But that never happened.

So how was the Taliban takeover not inevitable once the occupying forces were gone? It doesn't matter who the President of the United States is. The takeover seemed inevitable. And looking back on the events of the past few weeks my instincts seem to have been right.

The only way Trump might have made a difference is if he did an about face and ramped the war back up to eliminate the Taliban threat. Had Trump remained in power it's hard to imagine that the RINO Republicans and the covert Dems wouldn't have seriously threatened impeachment had Trump gone ahead with his withdrawal.

So the options were this. Either Trump withdraws the troops and this time really does get impeached (for crossing the line with slimeball Lindsey Graham) or he sends in troops and renews the war. I just can't imagine that tough talk alone, something Trump seems able to do and Biden doesn't, would have solved the problem. The American occupation, sorry to say, was corrupt right from the start and that corruption undermined the "democracy building" that supposedly was going on.

As far as Biden goes, how could he possibly not have realized all this? Some of the snippets I've heard from him recently indicate to me that he had been briefed and knew the reality of it but he had to lie about it. The American people didn't want to face reality so he had to lie about it since the last thing he wanted to do was send the troops back in for another round of war. Hopefully Biden will get away with it. Hopefully he'll call off the CIA long enough to evacuate without major bloodshed. Hopefully the Taliban will allow it. Maybe it's in the Taliban's best interest to renew its war against the western world but I doubt it.

But imagining that Donald Trump's tough talk routine would solve the problems in Afghanistan... dream on. The Taliban knows how to talk tough too and back it up.

Will Afghanistan be better off under Taliban rule? Will they choke off the world's heroine supply the way they did twenty years ago? They might. The world is against them but they might. They might even work with China to work on legitimate trade options. Hard to say. China wants that. Biden might even go along with it. Then again, China might want to get in on the opium trade, Afghanistan's strongest export, as payback for the opium wars. Hard to say. Not likely but hard to say. They're already doing it with fentanyl so why not opium too?

But Trump and his cheerleaders dumping on Biden for the problems in Afghanistan? Let the withdrawal happen first, then do your political bickering. Idiots!

Update (later in the same day)

Well here ya go. This explains it. Back in the Obama/Biden era the Afghan army took their work just about as seriously as Biden takes his work now!

Fact Checking Covid

Personally I can't imagine relying on a fact checking website for reliable information on Covid. I don't have much faith in online fact checkers in the first place although I'm sure a lot of people trust them. To me, online fact checks read like one-sided political debates - in other words like propaganda. One side is right or true while the other side is wrong or false.

Yet here I am reading an article on factcheck dot org about how narrow and wrong the argument is against Covid vaccines and spike proteins.

The article:

COVID-19 Vaccine-Generated Spike Protein is Safe, Contrary to Viral Claims

The article starts off with this sentence: "All of the COVID-19 vaccines currently approved in the United States are designed to instruct human cells to make harmless spike proteins — mimicking a viral protein that’s used by the SARS-CoV-2 virus to enter cells." Key word here is "harmless" so you know exactly where any bias by the author might reside.

The article seems to imply that the entire argument against the spike proteins in the vaccines originated from a radio interview in Canada of one Bryam Bridle, a viral immunologist. Apparently no other potential resources against these spike proteins exist otherwise wouldn't they be mentioned in this article?

I don't know what to think. I seem to detect some weaknesses in the arguments this article presents but maybe it's just me, my overactive imagination or something. For instance, there's this quote:

“The spike protein encoded by the mRNA vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech) and the J&J vaccine instruct the cells in our arm (where the injection is given) to produce spike protein that is tethered to the surface of the cell. It is not secreted and thus does not float through the body,”

Contrast that with this paragraph comparing vaccine spike proteins with actual Covid spike proteins which I guess supports the thesis that proves the vaccines' safety:

But, he said, there is “one key difference,” in that the spikes encoded by the vaccines “contain 2 amino acid changes that help stabilize the spike in its initial conformation and help prevent the spike from undergoing a conformational change that is required to facilitate membrane fusion.”

So the spike proteins produced by the vaccine right off the bat tether to the cells in tissue where they are injected but contain two amino acid changes that prevent membrane fusion. I guess that must mean that the Covid virus spike proteins help the virus fuse with host cells whereas the vaccine spike proteins just tether to the cells and don't cause the fusion of any deadly viruses (that presumably aren't in the vaccine in the first place) with the cell walls. Now in my mind reading this the assumption supporting this article's thesis is that it's the virus itself that causes harm, not the harmless tethering spike proteins. They just tether. They just attach themselves to cell walls near the injection site as some sort of "spike" and don't bother anything. They don't get into the blood and tether themselves to cells anywhere else in the body and apparently they don't bother anything other than the immune system which identifies them as the enemy for some reason even though they are just harmless little spikes and then... what? What does the immune system do to these cells that apparently now have the ability to grow these harmless little tethering spikes? I don't know, kill the cells maybe? I mean, isn't the whole point of the vaccination to train the immune system to identify these and similar spike proteins and kill the cells they are either tethered or fused to? Eat them up. Munch munch, gone!?

Right. Whatever. It's harmless, right? The thesis here is that it's harmless.

Go figure.

Then there's this thing with the recurring term "no evidence". One would assume that any responsible researcher would first look for evidence before declaring there is none. I guess that was old-school science. Now it seems more like hey nobody has thought it necessary to waste time searching for evidence to prove the counter-thesis so therefore there is no evidence of the counter-thesis itself. That rings of politics, doesn't it? Searching the paper I find eight instances of this "no evidence" claim. You want proof?

Again from the article, quoting:

According to the CDC’s website there is limited data available on the safety and the effects of vaccination in lactating people or breastfed babies because the clinical trials didn’t include people who were breastfeeding. However, it says, based on available data “COVID-19 vaccines are thought not to be a risk.”

Maybe that's all the proof you need that government mandated drugs are safe and effective. Good luck with that!

Then there's this one quoted from the article:

“I am quite confident that the spike protein is not a toxin,” she told FactCheck.org in an email. “Furthermore if vaccine induced spike were pathogenic wouldn’t we see a lot of illness following vaccination?”

OK so how exactly would we see this? I mean, what, would the person who walked into the Covid vaccine clinic exhibit it right then and there? Some do of course, but wouldn't some of them maybe perhaps wait a few days before they had symptoms? OK so suppose they did delay before their heart attack or rash or whatever else appeared? How would researchers know it happened? How would they "see" illness? Would the suffering people just phone in to report it or something?

Well it just so happens they might just do that and who would they call to report it?

Who ya gonna call?

Well hey, why not give this a try, VAERS, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System run by the CDC. Once again Fact Check dot org has this one covered too!

Viral Posts Misuse VAERS Data to Make False Claims About COVID-19 Vaccines

From their reporting we have this quote:

So when VAERS says it has received 2,509 reports of death among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine as of March 29, that does not mean that those deaths were caused by the vaccine.

In fact, after reviewing medical records, autopsies and death certificates for all of those cases, physicians from both the CDC and the FDA determined that there was “no evidence that vaccination contributed to patient deaths.”

No evidence! Imagine that! The vaccines haven't led to a single death reported to this CDC monitoring tool. Imagine that? Nobody can prove anything!

Now vaguely somewhere in the back of my head I remember reading within the past month or two that there have been in excess of 45,000 deaths, recent Covid vaccine related deaths at least in the minds of the survivors or maybe their healthcare representatives, reported on this VAERS tool and over 600,000 other suspected complications, but you know how it is, there's no way to prove a connection so there's "no evidence". Why that would be a post hoc ergo propter hoc logical fallacy to make that kind of connection! And we can't have something like that holding weight in science, can we?

You know, in my mind this kind of reporting and this kind of commentary on research is like pseudoscience or something. If I were a professor I would award an F to reports like these. But that is an old-fashioned way of looking at this. In the modern world there is another term used to refer to this kind of thing. That word is "Science" capitalized like the word "God".

Reading My Mind

This morning I came across an article on Breitbart that convinced me that Tucker Carlson must be reading my mind. No wonder I resonate with so much of what he says:

The comments for this article were interesting but one comment by Allen M. Ease was just so full of historic information that I can't resist archiving it here.

 Prepare to crap your pants:

Tucker Carlson warned that America is becoming a “soviet

There’s a very good reason to think the way he does.

"I think of all the damnable heresies that have ever been suggested in connection with the Constitution, the doctrine of emergency is the worst. It means that when Congress declares an emergency there is no Constitution. This means its death....But the Constitution of the United States, as a restraining influence in keeping the federal government within the carefully prescribed channels of power, is moribund, if not dead. We are witnessing its death-agonies, for when this bill becomes a law, if unhappily it becomes law, there is no longer any workable Constitution to keep the Congress within the limits of its constitutional powers."

--Harpers, July 1958

"It is in the American interest to put an end to Nationhood."

--Walt Rostow, economist, Council on Foreign Relations

member and U.N. spokesman

"The main purpose of the Council on Foreign Relations is promoting the disarmament of U.S. sovereignty and national independence and submergence into an all-powerful, one world government."

--Rear Admiral Chester Ward, Judge Advocate General of the Navy 1956-1960, and former CFR member

“It is the emergence of mass media which makes possible the use of propaganda techniques on a societal scale. The orchestration of press, radio and television to create a continuous, lasting and total environment renders the influence of propaganda virtually unnoticed precisely because it creates a constant environment. Mass media provides the essential link between the individual and the demands of the technological society.”

-- Jacques Ellul, author of The Technological Society, 1964

"The Trilateral Commission is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power; - Political, monetary, intellectual, and ecclesiastical. What the Trilateral Commission intends is to create a worldwide economic power superior to the political governments of the nation states involved. As managers and creators of the system, they will rule the future."

--U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater, in With No Apologies, 1964

"The Council on Foreign Relations is 'the establishment'.

Not only does it have influence and power in key decision making positions at the highest levels of government to apply pressure from above, but it also announces and uses individuals and groups to bring pressure from below, to

justify the high level decisions for converting the U.S. from a sovereign Constitutional Republic into a servile member of a one-world dictatorship."

--Former Congressman John Rarick, 1971

"The New World Order will have to be built from the bottom up rather than from the top down...but in the end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece will accomplish much more than the old fashioned frontal assault."

--CFR member Richard Gardner, writing in the April 1974

issue of the CFR's journal, Foreign Affairs.

"The New World Order under the UN will reduce everything to one common denominator. The system will be made up of a single currency, single centrally financed government, single tax system, single language, single political system,

single world court of justice, single state religion...Each

person will have a registered number, without which he will not be allowed to buy or sell; and there will be one universal world church. Anyone who refuses to take part in the universal system will have no right to exist."

--Dr. Kurt E. Koch, Assessment of the New World

"The drive of the Rockefellers and their allies is to create a one-world government combining supercapitalism and Communism under the same tent, all under their control.... Do I mean conspiracy? Yes I do. I am convinced there is such a plot, international in scope, generations old in planning, and incredibly evil in intent."

--Congressman Larry P. McDonald, 1976, killed in the Korean Airlines 747 that was shot down by the Soviets

"The master planners devised the strategy of a merger - a Great Merger - among nations. But before such a merger can be consummated, and the United States becomes just another province in a New World Order, there must at least

be the semblance of parity among the senior partners in the deal. How does one make the nations of the world more nearly equal? The Insiders determined that a two-prong approach was needed; use American money and know-how to build up your competitors, while at the same time use every devious strategy you can devise to weaken and impoverish this country. The goal is not to bankrupt the United States. Rather, it is to reduce our productive might, and therefore our standard of living, to the meager subsistence level of the socialized nations of the world.

The plan is not to bring the standard of living in less

developed countries up to our level, but to bring ours down to meet theirs coming up... It is your standard of living which must be sacrificed on the altar of the New World Order."

---Gary Allen in his book "The Rockefeller File", 1976

"Fundamental, Bible believing people do not have the right to indoctrinate their children in their religious beliefs

because we, the state, are preparing them for the year 2000, when America will be part of a one-world global society and their children will not fit in."

-- PETER HOAGLAND, Nebraska State Senator and Humanist, speaking on radio in 1983

"This is a terrible thing to say. In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it's just as bad not to say it."

--Jacques Cousteau, interview with UNESCO Courier for Nov. 1991

"Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order [EDIT: the 1991 L.A. Riots had just taken place, and Americans at that time didn't think riots were a good thing]. Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence [EDIT: think non-ending wars on terror, Transfer of Wealth Climate Change schemes, or forever lock downs because of lab made

viruses]. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the

guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government."

--Henry Kissinger, Bilderberger Conference, France, 1991

"In the next century, nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National

sovereignty wasn't such a great idea after all."

--Strobe Talbot, President Clinton's Deputy Secretary of

State, as quoted in Time Magazine, July 20, 1992

"The United Nations is the greatest fraud in all history. Its purpose is to destroy the United States."

--U.S. Congressman John E. Rankin

"It is the sacred principles enshrined in the United Nations charter to which the American people will henceforth pledge their allegiance."

--Former CIA Director (and U.S. President) George H.W. Bush, U.N. building, Feb. 1, 1992

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when

everything the American people believe is false."

--William Casey, CIA Director, 1981

"...at that time the economy of the United States will be going down and the next boat people will be Americans leaving America looking for work abroad."

Covid and Virtue

It just dawned on me what all this chatter about the vaccinated getting the delta variant of Covid from the unvaccinated actually is.

Here's the thing:

Wasn't it just last week that we discovered that even the vaccinated can carry and transmit the delta variant? Am I imagining that or was it in the news? Not only can the vaccinated still get the delta variant but they can transmit it to other people, right? If I'm not correct about this then the rest of this argument I'm presenting doesn't hold much water, but if I have it right... well...

Now if you think about it most of us have been led to believe that getting the vaccine and being up to date on it enables us to regain some of the rights and liberty that we lost when the mask mandates and lockdowns and social distancing were so prevalent. Get vaccinated and you are safe to be around other people, right? So whereas before the vaccine you might have skipped out on movie theaters and restaurants and concerts and weddings and funerals and church services and schoolrooms and indoor sports events and on and on, now the vaccinated, because they are no longer contagious, can exercise the liberty to be out and about like that as long as the people they mingle with are also vaccinated. We are (or were for a month or so) free again.

Then...

Along comes science, last week was it?, and all of a sudden we find that even the vaccinated can pass the delta variant on to others, not just to the unvaccinated but to other vaccinated people.

Yet...

Again and again and again we hear the claim from vaccinated people that it is the unvaccinated who are contagious and are irresponsible and on and on it goes. The unvaccinated shouldn't be allowed in the workplace or in the stores or anywhere else for that matter because they are the ones giving everybody this new Covid strain while in reality it is this false sense of security that the vaccinated now have that they aren't the problem that quite likely is responsible. It's hard to deny now that the vaccinated are spreading the delta variant.

So what does it gain for the vaccinated to preach their superior morality to the unvaccinated?

Brace yourself...

It is yet another form of liberal virtue signaling only this time it's not just limited to liberals.

Whole Wheat Bread - Again!

Recently I have wondered if the apparent shadow-banning of this blog presumably by its mother company Google makes it impossible to do a Google search for my articles about my whole wheat bread recipe which could very well be my most significant contribution to this journal.

So I googled "Eden Hill Journal" and "whole wheat bread" and voila! Nothing pertinent! Good going Google!

Fortunately I was able to use Bing to recover the links. Here they are:

Afghanistan - A Time Stamp

I'm posting this for no other reason than to place a time stamp in this journal to mark the day that the United States and its allies lost the war in Afghanistan.

What everybody said would happen if the United States did not remain committed in that country has happened and the country has slipped back under authoritarian religious rule.

Who is to blame? Is it Biden's fault? Is it Trump's fault? Give me a break!

So now we get to see how China will integrate Afghanistan into its world vision. With the CIA presumably gone will the new Afghan government allow China to traffic the nation's opium? Will the trans-Afghan pipelines still feed India's energy needs? Will the heads of liberated Afghan women be rolling in the streets? Will there be hostages? Has the American folly reopened the door for the Russians in Afghanistan? Will the religion of the Taliban clash with Iran's Islamic worldview?

Just a time stamp. The world will just have to wait and see.

Long Covid and Friday the 13th

It's still Friday the 13th west of here but here it's the 14th so I can reflect back on what I discovered Friday.

Friday August 13th, 2021 is the day that "Long Covid" entered the mainstream debate. If I Google the term I can see that it wasn't coined Friday but Friday is when it entered public debate, when it became a "talking point".

Long Covid is the confession that you can have Covid-19 or its variants and not get over it, not die from it, maybe even never have more than mild symptoms, but not get over it. At this point in time we seem to be just one small step away from being able to say in public that people with Covid-19 can be contagious indefinitely.

Covid - Ivermectin Again

I take anything I read at this website with a grain of salt, but this is worth taking the time to consider:

STUDY: Ivermectin is a safe and effective remedy for covid that costs less than $1 a day

I think it might even be anti-Semitic of you to disagree with this new evidence. Think it over.

Update - More information

Vaccine "Emergency Use Authorization" & ivermectin (from Livestream #80)

It's hard to imagine that these big companies haven't left the door wide open for class-action lawsuits.

Clutter

Clutter, doesn't that word just roll off the tongue? It's like "cluck" which is a sound you make with your mouth. Clutter. "Clut" should be a forbidden four-letter word, a cutting insult or something.

But clutter, how would you define clutter?

Well this morning I came up with a good one, a generic all-purpose unifying theme:

"Clutter is an accumulation of unfinished business." Quote me on that.

I am quite familiar with the word.

Seeing Blue

It's that time of year again. Up on the farm it's blueberry season and so far things are going quite well. I've only been picking for three days but I have five quarts already in the freezer, two quarts of sweetened blueberry juice concentrate in the refrigerator along with a quart of fresh berries and a quart of pulp from making the juice and that doesn't include the quart of concentrate I've already consumed.

A few years ago I learned that the wild blueberries that have taken over my fields have another name. I've always called them low bush blueberries. The bushes usually produce fruit two to three years after they have been cut or burned. Blueberry bushes grow on rhizomes, root networks, so mowing or burning doesn't kill the plant. It restarts it. This year has been a little different, though. This year the best berries are growing on older bushes. They grow in either small clusters or single berries which makes it pretty much impossible to pick with a blueberry rake. I wait until most of the berries on the bushes are ripe, then I clip the bush, bring it home in plastic bins, and sit on my front porch picking pretty much every ripe berry on the bush. I've been harvesting my blueberries this same way for years and I can't imagine doing it any other way.

Anyway, seeing blue...

I've noticed in years past that during blueberry season every time I close my eyes I see blueberries on the bush, visions of perfectly shaped bright blue berries against the green leaves, the sight I see for hours on end when I am picking. I wonder if it's a genetic thing, a deep memory from the past fed by the nutritional boost blueberries give me and have given generations of farmers before me. This year the visions began the day I started picking.

Oh and are they actual real Maine blueberries?

I'll let the U of M Cooperative Extension explain:

Cooperative Extension: Maine Wild Blueberries

From that I'd say mine are mostly sourtop blueberries although it's reasonable to assume there may be other varieties mixed in.

When I pick I've noticed myself gently rolling the berries with my fingers to twist them off their stem rather than gripping and pulling the berries off. The ripe berries fall right off into the bowl undamaged when I use this approach. Under-ripe berries don't let go of their stems and over-ripe ones won't even roll between my fingers solving those two problems before the berries even hit the bowl. After each batch I use a fan to winnow them, then I sit at the kitchen table and pick through the bowl a small handful at a time separating out any green ones and any soft over-ripe ones. It's a lot of work!

I have competition in my fields though. Sometimes bears get into them but more often wild turkeys devastate the crop. Some years, though, it's the people who tend to just help themselves to wild berries wherever they find them. That seems to be a Maine thing. Some of those folks occasionally are kind enough to drop off a pie for my reward for allowing wild blueberries - and them - in my fields.

They Say that Math is Racist

A few months back there was news that the subject of math in schools is somehow racist. I think the argument was that in math there is the right answer and then there are wrong answers and Blacks can't be expected to know (or apparently even find out) what the right answer is.

I can't imagine anything more racist than to say Blacks can't tell the difference between right and wrong. Where on earth do things like this come from?

Covid - The Delta Variant

Chances are you've read everything else about the "Delta variant" of Covid. But chances are you haven't read much about this which for awhile now has been annoying me:

How is the Delta Variant Spreading If There is No Direct Delta Variant Test?

If you think this is a joke, pay a little more attention.

The Covid Vaccine

All this talk of the Covid vaccine and how the people who don't trust government enough to believe that the vaccine is safe...

Two days after my dentist had his second vaccine shot he was sick in bed all day. One day after that I was his patient and two days after that I was sick in bed all day.

Let me pose this question:

Suppose these Covid variants are actually originating from the vaccines. Suppose when you get vaccinated for Covid you can actually transmit variants of Covid to other people. Suppose that's what has been driving the new waves. Is it socially responsible to get vaccinated to protect yourself if that is what is actually happening or is it pure selfishness?

The question is rhetorical. Currently there is no way to meaningfully answer it.
