If the Urban Dictionary meaning of "cliffnotes" can be used loosely, then this YouTube channel could certainly be described as the cliffnotes of world affairs concerning the Ukraine. This guy's daily vlog tells the story as you simply cannot get it in the media.
Here's today's edition:
And here's the list of his videos:
Highly recommended for those who like to think outside the box. For those who like to conform to authority, however, well just don't click the links above.
For some reason the governments and media in the global "west" have been unable to explain why Russia might want to claim that their decision to invade Ukraine was provoked.
This might help explain why:
Those folks who would not want you to know about this just might not actually be your "friends".
So this notice just showed up in my blog's main control panel. For some reason it gave me no clue as to which post it refers to. If anyone has a clue feel free to comment. Anyone at Google have a clue?
Ah, I think I found it in which case it would be a violation of policy against adult content. On December 6, 2008, I referred to an adult website making note of the fact that I wasn't discussing its contents and I did not give an active link to the site, yet Blogger warns observers against opening my post.
How trivial...
Make of this what you will. I won't stand behind these statistics but I'm in no position to deny them either. However, I will note that I don't see any way to verify that the author is legitimate. Who wrote this?
Still, this data is troubling.

Another chunk of Greenville history is Charlie Coe, a legendary pilot for Folsom's Air Service on Moosehead Lake, Maine. I happened upon this video on YouTube this morning which instantly reminded me of Charlie and his wife Evelyn. For years, Charlie drove a Nash Metropolitan identical in vintage and color to the one featured here:
When Charlie and Evelyn first moved to Greenville, they rented an apartment in the house that I grew up in located just east of the Greenville airport. In the 1960's Dick Folsom, owner and chief pilot for Folsom's Air Service, purchased a red de Havilland Beaver and converted it to floats. The plane became a legend for the remainder of the Twentieth Century starring each year in Greenville in the annual Seaplane Pilots Association fly-in the weekend after Labor Day weekend as well as starring in the movie Sweet Home Alabama.
I have fond memories of Charlie buzzing Evelyn sometimes on return trips from Horseshoe Pond in that Beaver, then painted yellow, roaring over the house at treetop level. Charlie and Evelyn also lived in the small house at the Greenville airport, and I suspect there are still travelers who have forgotten memories of this Nash Metropolitan parked there and of Evelyn welcoming them to the airport.
I have written about Charlie before - A Blast from the Past - but somebody needs to write a book about him. He was a low-keyed but distinguished character in aviation history.
P-51 Mustang "Night Mare" World War II pilot Charlie Coe:
Charles Sherwood Coe referencing this obituary: 1SGT Charles Sherwood Coe
And here: Charles S Coe (1922 - 1994)
Charlie had the kind of personality that would lead me to believe that the only enemies he ever had were the pilots he shot down in World War II, whoever they were. He was an enormously amiable guy, short but always wearing his wide, toothy smile.
These 747 reviews seem to easily catch my attention while triggering a memory I have from my Air Force days in 1969 and 1970 in Fort Worth. One of the, if not the, original Pan-Am 747s flew into Dallas Fort Worth for a public open house and I went. That memory always impressed me, and I have always thought of the 747 as an impressive airplane.
This seems to be a recent review on the CNBC YouTube channel. It's a great review full of informative trivia:
One of the most significant scandals of our times is the "Twitter Files" that demonstrate, for anyone curious, that the United States government has been moderating the content of social media, something that many people believe to be a violation of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution which, last I knew, prohibits government control of free speech, the press, and the media in the United States.
One big question comes to mind when I consider this recent revelation:
What makes you think that this began with social media? Why on earth would it not dawn on you that government has been controlling all of the forms of mainstream media? Just because we don't have access to proof, does that mean it hasn't been happening? If a tree falls in the woods and there's nobody around to hear it, does it still make a sound? Does the tree even still fall?
Duhhhhhhhhh.....
We live in an age where what we assume to be the truth because reputable media people tell us that it is true is actually just a government-controlled fabrication - like as in "fake news".
